GDOTI 5th Anniversary Special...

(BACK IN TIME) It is hard to have these files retrieved. They are originally stored on a Macintosh computer which crashed one day afternoon last summer. Pop sounds came out the frame. The Mac was dead by then, after eaten a real bomb. It was possibly due to the hot/moisture weather and the low frequency of useage. It's lucky that data have been saved to MO disks before that incident, however they cannot be read by the PC I am currently using. Actually the problem come from the MO drive which is SCSI based, while the PC is not. Anyway these files were uploaded by today, everything is "at-the-moment" between February 21 and April 30, 2001.

(ORIGINAL IDEA) It was a movie, the new concept of update came out in my head at the early of 2001, a journey which take people go through a brief history on shooters, the legendary Gradius series including Gradius I, II, III, IV, Salamander 1, 2, and Gradius Gaiden, which hope to draw attentions from people even they have no big interest in STGs. It would also feature a soundtrack section which is never done before. Also, it was planned to have an introduction on GDOTI - generations of the website. At last it would be the credits section. The fundamental system is like playing a DVD movie which users can select their own language to see, or jump to a specific chapter, together with other options etc. I think it is interesting to do something like that on the internet. I found this is possible with the use of the Flash application, and why no one do that. I am gonna be the first one to do it.

(NOW SHOWING) It is a concept. The project did not go completion. Actually, it contains only the title screen and the introduction. (It's lucky that I exported one and the only SWF file in that time, for the purpose of testing.) Even for this couple of seconds of showing time, it took me a lot of time to do so. The movie is designed to have sound effect and narration during play-back which was planned to add it at the last moment in case for any changes to the script. You will not hear anything simply because it is not finished. I found the movie runs faster than I expected, on the current PC. If you have a Macintosh with an 120MHz CPU, you will possibly able to watch it with the original speed, that's what I had been using to build the website. Click on the CD to access now!
